Years of changes have all been about choices

In her 12 years as an employee at Ark City Presbyterian Manor, Stacy Pike has seen how changes at the community have been centered around giving residents more choices.

“We continue to strive to provide our residents individualized person-centered care, so when making choices it’s based on how they want to live,” said Stacy.

The biggest change she’s seen over the years is how “everything has gone electronic. For HR, it’s the new payroll system and hiring process. Applications are filled out online and if hired, the paperwork is sent electronically to the new employee to be filled out. From there, our process is managed through a new electronic system as well,” said Stacy.

Stacy’s role at the community has seen a variety of changes, too.

“I started as part-time CNA in healthcare then received my CMA a year later, but stayed part-time until accepting a full-time position as administrative services director,” she said.

Stacy became the HR Director in 2016 after filling in for HR for a few years, and she continues to work PRN as needed in memory care, which she loves to do.

“No matter what department you may work in, we help each other do whatever needs to be done. You can always rely on each other not just professionally but personally as well,” said Stacy.

What does she enjoy most about working here?

“We are truly a family. We are there to celebrate not only achievements but when someone goes through hardships. We have such a strong support system here—that helps us go through those tough times. I also love working for an organization that has a Christian based philosophy and mission.”

When she’s not working, Stacy enjoys spending time with her six grand kids. She also loves going to garage sales, decorating, DIY projects, going to the lake, camping and snow skiing.
