Three employees at Arkansas City Presbyterian Manor will receive assistance to continue their education through Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America’s Employee Education Assistance program.
Paige has been employed at Presbyterian Manor for almost four years, serving as a CNA and a CMA in our memory care neighborhood. She recently received an LPN certification and is continuing her education at Butler Community College to become an RN. Paige said the award will help reduce her out-of-pocket costs for her education. She was encouraged to apply for the scholarship program by her aunt Cammy Boone, health services director at Arkansas City Presbyterian Manor. Paige plans to complete her RN studies in May 2018.
Jaden joined our dining services team three years ago, and she soon became a CNA in our health care neighborhood. She is pursuing a bachelor of science in nursing degree at Pittsburg State University.

Samantha is charting a new course in her career. For three years, she has worked as a CNA and CMA with our health care and memory care residents. Now, she’s going back to school to earn a bachelor’s degree in social work. Sam said she chose this path because she has “a heart for helping." She loves the work she has been doing with our residents, and she believes she can make a difference in more people’s lives as a social worker.
Our former assisted living director helped Samantha with her enrollment and home health certification, and she told her about the education assistance program. Like the other scholarship award winners, Sam is thankful for the money and the dent it will make in the amount of student loans she will need for school.
The education assistance program provides funds to employees for accredited educational programs leading to a certification, license or degree. Applications are accepted and reviewed every spring. To be eligible, employees must have been employed at Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America for at least one year at the time the award is made (usually mid-summer). Funds are paid after the successful completion (a “C” grade or higher) of the approved course and can be used to cover tuition, fees and books.
